Family Journal Entry

Friday at playgroup I cought Kaci climbing across the top beam of one of those big wooden playsets (like you buy at Costco). It was soooo high! Even I was suprised, and she doesn't suprise me much anymore. I had to pursuade her to climb back through the window of the 2nd story of the playset since she was way out of my reach.

That morning I walked in on her with a squirt bottle drenching the laptop. I was so sick about it and sure that it would never recover, but our freind Aaron told him how to dry it out, and it seems as good as new now! Thank GOODNESS!!

She refused to take a nap today. I left her in her room crying for and hour and a half before giving up. When I finally went in there she was a sweaty mess. Her hair was standing on end from rubbing up against the crib tent and her her face was drenched with sweat, snot, and tears. She was sticky and sweaty. The second I picked her up she was catching her breath, you know how they keep kind of sucking up air for a while, and in between her hiccops she hugged me and said "There. That's better." She may be fierce and volitile, but thank goodness she recovers fast!

Kaci and Spencer

Well, today was "one of those days". Kaci had to be checked for a bladder infection at the doctor. Ever tried to get a urine sample from a toddler who is NOT potty trained? It's not fun. The nurse was amazed at how strong Kaci is! We were there for 2 1/2 hours! Luckily the test was negative though . . . last night Kaci wanted the DVD player from on top of the bookshelf and Jeremy was in the middle of something and said he couldn't get it for her. When she kept asking, he told her to "get it herself" thinking it would stall her a few minutes. Instead, of course, she said "ok" and immediately scaled the bookshelf. She was literally at the top pulling the DVD player down by the time Jeremy got from the couch to grab her (which was only about 2 steps away). She is such a monkey! I had to put a padalock on our fence to keep her in. Jeremy didn't believe me that she was getting out on her own. He was sure I was not latching it properly (the latch is on the other side of the door and you have to reach around to get it open). I cought her trying to get out after I put the padalock on. I sat there and spied on her to see how she had been escaping. She was climbing the fence and reaching over the top. She had totally figured out how to open it.
Yesterday, she "said the prayer" for the first time. It was so cute. She's done it on all the mealtime prayers since then, and she's really getting the hang of it.
Spencer is getting so big! He's nice and chunky! He's really sweet and just sits and stares at me until I look at him, then he smiles. Sometimes I'm busy doing somthing and get that feeling that someone is watching me and I look at him and he's just staring at me waiting to get my attention. He's a real momma's boy and I have to admit I like it! It's nice to be someone's "favorite" person in the whooooole world. :)
Well, gotta go get ready for Jeremy to come home from work for the weekend, Yeahhhhh!!
